Visit the Fountain of Youth ECO/ History Tours web site:

The Tour: After finding a comfortable seat, the Acuera will ease away from the dock to begin telling the tale of these “healing waters”. Much of the story will unfold before our eyes as osprey swoop down to pluck a meal and Florida Alligators warm in the sun. Whatever your interest, you are sure to enjoy your time with us.

The History: It is said that Ponce De Leon discovered his famed Fountain of Youth here. Although this story might not be a 100% accurate, evidence does show that Native Americans inhabited this area more than 5,000 years ago. As we explore nature we will talk about the legends, facts, and the folk history.

Before and After: Consider making your trip to De Leon Springs an all day affair. The park offers more than 5 miles of hiking, swimming in the refreshing spring pool, fishing and picnicking. You can also visit the unique Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant, where you can make pancakes at the table! If you don’t get enough of the wildlife onboard the M/V Acuera, you can also rent kayaks, canoes or paddleboats.

M/V Acuera: Piloted by Capt. Frank, your trip aboard the M/V Acuera will not only be comfortable but also safe. The Acuera is a Coast Guard inspected pontoon vessel and carries all the necessary safety equipment.  Accessible parking, restrooms and paved walkways are close to the restaurant and boat dock.

Location: De Leon Springs is off US 17 between S. R. 40 and S. R. 44. Take I-4 exit 114; follow the access road to US 17/92 in Deland, and look for state park signs. Turn west on Ponce De Leon Boulevard. Proceed 1 mile to the park.
